In this evaluation i am going to talk about the problems that i encountered when coming to do my front cover and contents page of my school magazine. I am also going to be explaining how my magazine challenges and develops forms of real magazines and media products accoring to the codes and conventions.
There where many problems that i encounted from when i had to take my pictures until i was uploading my blog. The problems that i had to overcome when i was taking my pictures where that i hadnt planned all of my mise-en-scene out right. And also that because i wanted a 'New teacher' on the front cover of my magazine, but there wasnt many teachers that was willing to pose to be a new teacher on the front of my magazine. In the end i got a mathematics teacher to do it for me. Also when i came to uploadf pictures onto the blog neither the workplaces at home or at school would let me upload pictures. I could not overcome this as i had tried many times and each time would not let me.
My front cover had folowed the codes and contentions exept it didnt have a tag line. This was as i hadnt have time to think of one. As far as the contents page goes i have followed all of there codes and conventions besides the fact that the titles are in bold and i dint do that as i didnt remember to.
The media technology that i used where Quark express and Adobe Photoshop. Quark express was a brand new software for me to use, so it took me alot longer to get used to it. It took me longer to use Quark express than Adobe Photoshop.
The strengths of my media product are;
-The contents page doesnt have many images on so therefore there is more writing on it so it is more full and i have more content.
-The colour scheme was ironic as i chose blue and the name of the magazine is 'Cool Classrooms' and the connotations of Cool is blue.
The weaknesses of my media product are;
-The colour of the background as it is purple and it was just a colour chosen at random because it contasted with the light colour for my anchoring text.
